History
1937: The origins of the company go back to the year 1937. Benari Deceuninck, father of the present directors, started a small company in Beveren-Roeselare for the manufacture of all kinds of buttons, buckles et cetera from plastic sheeting.
1941: reorganisation of sole proprietorship to limited liability company (PVBA); production of plastic combs and boxes
1945: expansion of the machinery and production of polystyrene and acetate (packaging, toys et cetera)
In the nineteen-sixties the firm chooses to explore a new direction in plastics production: extruding PVC granules for the manufacture of profiles for the building industry (initially, rollershutter profiles, then window profiles)
1970: establishment of French branch Plastibat Sàrl with commercial function: sales, storage and delivery
1974: PVBA "Etablissements Deceuninck" is reorganised into a company limited by shares (N.V.) through the participation of American group "City Investing"
1981: establishment of Deeplas Ltd, UK branch
1983: project for the construction of extrusion plants in France and UK
1984: establishment of Spanish branch Deceuninck Iberica S.A.
1985: March: liquidation of City Investing and takeover of majority interest by institutional investors. In addition, financial and administrative restructuring of Deceuninck Group realised.
11.06.1985: introduction at the Brussels stock exchange increase in capital to 330 million BEF opening of new extrusion plant in France (Roye-Somme) increase in Plastibat S.A. capital construction of new offices and warehouses in Calne, UK - 120km west of London)
1993: Internationalization in Eastern Europe
1995: American expansion: Slocomb joins Deceuninck
1997: Leading producer in the U.S. with acquisition of Dayton Technologies
1999: Acquisition of Status Systems. Deceuninck enters the UK top 5
2000: Acquisition of Turkish Ege Profil
2003: Deceuninck attains world leadership after acquisition of Thyssen Polymer
2004: Deceuninck acquired a window profiles producer owned by the Turkish holding company Sabanci.
Deceuninck received the "Enterprise of the year 2004" trophy from HRH Prince Philippe and the Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt.
2006: Deceuninck established it's subsidiary in Australia.
